📜 Understanding Queensland Smoke Alarm Legislation

Queensland’s final deadline for interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms in existing homes is 1 January 2027. Homes being sold or rented already need to meet the upgraded requirements. Alarms must meet AS 3786:2014 and be installed in the required bedrooms, hallways and storeys. Existing hardwired alarms must be replaced with hardwired alarms. We assess the power supply and layout before recommending a system.
